Equitape Horse Wormer Paste
Equitape Horse Wormer is a single dose treatment, especially developed for horses to kill three cestode species. It is highly potent and anti-tapeworm treatment which should be used as a part of a comprehensive worming course, particularly when Tapeworms are most prevalent during the commencement and finish of the grazing season. This product is recommended for foals and horses from 2 months of age. But for the administration of this worming treatment for pregnant or lactating mares you need to consult with your veterinarian. It comes in a highly palatable flavor which makes it easy to dose.
How it works?
Praziquantel is the active ingredient present in this worming paste. It is an active anthelmintic that kills different types of tapeworms by interrupting the normal functioning of the nerve cells. This causes paralysis in the worms thereby killing tapeworms. It is also effective against harmful infestations.
Ingredients:
Praziquantel, Propyl Parahydroxybenzoate, Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate
- For oral administration only.
- A single treatment in paste form.
- Administer the paste using the measured dose applicator.
- Check the graduation of dose applicator which is marked out to deliver the requisite dosage.
- For detailed instructions on administration check the product label or inquire from your veterinarian.
- After the administration of the treatment wash your hands properly with soap and water.
- As tapeworm infestation is unlikely to occur in horses before two months of age, treatment of foals below this age is not considered necessary.
- Before administration of the treatment read the entire package insert.
- Children should be kept away from the product.
- Dispose off any unused product or waste material in accordance with national waste disposal requirements.
- If there is any spillage of the product on the skin, it should be removed by washing with soap and water.
- If the treated horse is suffering from severe infestations, the treatment may result in mild, transient colic and loose feces due to destruction of tapeworms.
- In order to limit pasture excretion of the product and its metabolites, horses should remain stabled for 2 days after treatment.
- Never eat, drink or smoke during administration of the treatment.
- Strictly to be administered only on horses and no other animal species.
- This treatment should not be administered in horses producing milk for human consumption.
- There are no special precautions to be taken for storage of the product.
