Popantel for Cats
Popantel for Cats is an effective deworming treatment which controls different types of gastrointestinal worms comprising of tapeworm, hookworm and roundworm. This over-the-counter prescription product is useful for all types of cat breeds. It can also be given to pregnant and lactating queens.
How It Works?
Praziquantel and Pyrantel Embonate are the two active ingredients in Popantel for Cats. Praziquantel is an anthelmintic which is used for the treatment of various forms of gastrointestinal and external parasites in felines. Pyrantel Embonate is a deworming agent in the treatment of hookworms and roundworms in cats. It acts as a depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent, thereby causing sudden contraction, followed by paralysis. This has the result of causing the worm to "lose its grip" on the intestinal wall and be passed out of the system by natural process. Worms usually pass in normal stool or with diarrhea, straining, and occasional vomiting. The combination of both these ingredients helps in controlling hookworm, roundworm and tapeworm. This dewormer is highly effective in all sizes and breeds of cats including old cats, kittens, breeding toms, pregnant and lactating queens and show animals.
